Fencing is over for 2011. While skiing and falling real hard, I partially tore a tendon in my right shoulder. Erik, the physiotherapist, indicated at least one year retreat.

The King of bokeh is giving me troubles. Making pictures with this machine is difficult.

I did it. After going through all information about the Leica M9 I finally bought one. That was not easy because of the fact that in the South of the Netherlands there are no registerd Leica Dealers. Thank you Carola for the good service! A rangefinder is not a SLR camera so I have to reinvent making pictures again, On Gestels hoogtij I met Rein C and his son Kay. The first outside (beer) drinking event of the year 2011.

I left Tokyo one week prior to the devastating earthquake that hit on Japan. As a result to this earthquake a massive tsunami came subsequent. These two nature disasters took a severe toll in human casualties and damage. Now Japan and the world is faced with a potential nuclear disaster. My thoughts are with the people of Japan.

Japan/ Tokyo is amazing. This country is totally comitted to service and everything is organized to an enormous standard. There is a huge eye for detail. The objective of this trip was a Key User Engagement on SPS BP APAC for Philips Healthcare and to get aligned on business details; it went very well.
I also had the good fortune to spent some time as a "tourist". several things will stick to mind. First the public transport; punctual, fast, clean and service oriented. Dutch government should soak up some knowledge here! Secondly the quality of the food; Freshly made sushi is extraordinary.Thridly the amazing hospitallity everywhere.
